II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

How do I love thee?

So, I wanna know....what's the scoop on Valentines Day around your house? Do you celebrate? Is it a big deal or not really? Who makes the plans --you or hubby? Have you ever bought your husband flowers? Candy?
What would you most want to GET?

Just for the record, at our house, Valentines Day is a BIG deal to me...and a totally NOT big deal to hubby. That causes a bit of trouble...but at least this year we discussed how each other feels about it...so maybe, hopefully, we'll be on the same page (or at least in the same book) this year!

We usually do something at home with the kids. The kids and I make Daddy a big special dinner, and light lots of candles. We even drag out the nice plates, and stemware. Then we wrap up the gifts we bought for Daddy, and they make valentine cards for him.
He usually brings me and the kids home some special gifts. (he is alwasy the BEST gift giver).

That is about it. We don't even try to go out...around here you have to make reservations months and months in advance because all of the restaurants are booked for V-Day.

BIG deal in our house. We moved into our place last year on Feb 13th. Had no furniture, so I made a table out of a bunch of boxes taped together and we ate heart-shaped pizza off of it for dinner. No tv. No nothing. Just us and our new place and some pizza. I guess that's become the tradition now for Feb. 14th :) I think we're going to go out for a Japanese dinner later that weekend, and yes, we do get eachother gifts. He already got me concert tickets and I'm probably getting him some video games or gym shoes he's really wanted. Really romantic, huh? lol. I joke at our gift selections b/c our 1st V-Day I really wanted new gym shoes . . . and he got them for me. So, the gifts certainly don't have to be romantic around here. Just the dinner does.

well unfortunatley, my hubby is a lot like yours. it's a big deal to me and not so much to him. however, i have come to accept this and sometimes he does surprise me...

btw - how are the workouts/eating well going? I thought you had said something about setting a goal date for Valentine's Day?? I miss your Wednesday weigh-ins.

My weight/being healthy are going to be a big part of my Lenten focus this year - just treating my body in ways that are pleasing to God. I could always use a partner!

A big deal in our house! My hubby always sends flowers to work and he always tries to get me something special. We're WAY past sexy gifts - those would go over with a big thud!! And he likes practical gifts - like running shoes. Pretty romantic, eh? We always include something for the kids, too.

Chuck could care less about Valentines Day but he knows that it's important to me. He is giving me a massage and pedicure this year and a new house! LOL! Unfortunately we'll be moving the week of Valentines so my spa day is scheduled for the end of March.

We do kiddos stuff for valentines too like crafts and little cards for their friends.
