I just don't feel Christmassy yet. I want to sooo bad, but nothing I do brings it on. Matt and I have said almost every evening for the past week, "What can we do to get more in the spirit of things?" and neither of us has any ideas.
We have been to plays, several Christmas parties, went to The Christmas Train, listen to Christmas music 24/7, watch a Christmas movie almost every evening (thanks to ABC Family's 25 days of Christmas), bought and wrapped all our presests, I've been baking like crazy, we read the kids Christmas books every night before bed, the whole house is decorated up-inside and out....etc.
I just can't think of anything else we could do to get more in the Christmas spirit.
T. mentioned on her blog that the mall felt "like Christmas" so we're actually thinking about going tonight just to let the kids play in the play area and mabye get some dippin' dots or something. (no shopping).
Has anyone seen the movie Four Christmases? I just wondered if it's any good.
Okay, well, I better get off here. If anybody has any ideas for feeling Christmassy....pass 'em on!

The mall always spurs on Christmas for me. But I think it's just different when you live somewhere where the 4 seasons are so drastic as they are here. We always get snow (and lots of it) in between Thanksgiving and Christmas and that is usually what begins the season for me. I remember missing the LOOK of snow when we lived in OK...the LOOK...not the FEEL or the shovel!! LOL!!
I saw Four Christmas's and I LOVED LOVED LOVED it. Go see it!!! :)
I'm in a bit of a funk too. Or maybe I'm just taking this year at a slower pace than usual and for some reason I think I'm not in the spirit. Maybe hubby and I will watch a movie together tonight. I'm praying for a snow/ice day tomorrow so we can stay in.
Have you done any holiday baking? Tonight I was reading through all of the Christmas cards we got again, feeling very surrounded by everyone's love. I think this weekend will get me in the spirit more. We take our annual trip downtown for a day to shop outdoors in the freezing cold, eat the German food and pastries, see all the lights, go see the big tree at the Walnut Room. Very few people by us have put up any Christmas lights this year. Forgive me if I offend anyone, but some of them just settle for the inflateables and call it a day (gah!). I love when we take the dog for his walk at night and can walk hand in hand looking at the lights . . . even if there aren't too many this year, it's still romantic :) I'm off to grab a chai, curl up w/ the fam on the couch and read. You'll get there. Just remember why and who we are celebrating. Give yourself some time to be with God and to welcome Jesus again. When in doubt or trying to find your spirit - pray it out~
XOXO,

Four Christmases was HILARIOUS!!!
Go see it!!
I watched Die Hard and Die Harder yesterday - worked for me!
Also A Christmas Story is great too.
Hope you catch some spirit soon!
I've been in a funk this year to. I don't know why...
Christmas shopping helped some. I love buying presents for people. I just wish I had unlimited funds, so I could buy everyone I know and love something special.
I think we have just been so busy and then with the boys being sick, it's been hard to feel very christmassy....
