II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Well...hello up there!

So today when I got home from picking the kids up from school, I parked the car at the end of the driveway so the kids could play outside and use the concrete for their bikes and scooters and basketball and such. Brooklyn ended up deciding to come on inside but Grant stayed out. Well, for those of you who don't know this, we live in the country and people drive down this road like maniacs a lot of the time. Also, I can't tell you how many various strangers we have pull into our driveway. (people turning around, UPS drivers, people who are lost, people who are looking for asphault work or tree trimming or mowing, etc.) So...typically, we don't let the kids play outside in the front yard without an adult. We are working on getting an electric gate opener right now so we can feel a little safer about this..but in the meantime..it's just not a great idea for them to be out there alone. So you can imagine my heartpounding fear when I stepped outside to check on Grant and couldn't find him anywhere. Thankfully he didn't let me freak out for too long before he calmly said "hi mom!"from somewhere. But where? I couldn't see him anywhere but I could hear him. Hmmmm....

Yes, the kid had climbed up there all by himself without me knowing it! And...he was perfectly happy just sitting there and did not want to get down-no matter how "Dangerous that is!!!!!" What a little stinker!

My older brother was always climbing trees. Me? I could never even get onto the first branch!

boys will be boys. LOL! I remember climbing our front tree a lot when I was a kid to. I loved it, and could spend hours out there. we don't have any trees big enough for the boys to climb. (bummer, they really would love it).
