II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Big Brave Brooklyn

Yesterday, Brooklyn had her tonsils and adenoids removed. We knew it was coming, as we've had this scheduled for a couple of weeks, and as much as I've been preparing HER for what to expect and that everything would be fine....I didn't even think about how I(ME) might do with this whole thing.
Let me tell you...it is not cool to see your child in a hospital bed. And it's really not cool to see people in scrubs who you don't know wheel her away from you. Even though I knew it was a very routine procedure and everything went well..I was not prepared for how she looked when I walked into the recovery room. Because she was still fully under anesthesia....to me she looked...well..I can't even say it...but un-alive is what I'm trying to say. Matt said, "she just looks like she's sleeping" but I didn't think so. When she sleeps she cuddles up with her lammy and she looks peaceful. This time her head was cocked to the side oddly and her mouth was open and her hair was a mess. Her skin looked abnormally pale and well...the truth is, I am a bit dramatic at times (gasp!) :o)
Anyway, I just decided to not look at her until she started to wake up and then wha-lah! She was back to my girl again. :o)
I'm sure it didn't help me that I had a large to-go cup of coffee on the way to the hospital, didn't eat breakfast AND drank a Diet Mt. Dew in the waiting room! I was a shaky mess!
Anyway, like I said, the surgery went perfectly and QUICK (like 25 minutes!) and the doctor said he removed a LOT of tonsil and adenoid tissue. (that's good and probably why she's always choking on things!)
Now that she's home, she is feeling terrific and enjoying having my undivided attention (and all the yummy foods she gets-made to order!) So far, she's gotten to have extra-cheesy mac-n-cheese, chocolate mousse pudding with whip cream and a cherry, Danimals, oatmeal, chicken noodle soup, a fruit chiller, a jamocha shake and a cheese omlet for breakfast this morning. Yum!
She is feeling great and not even needing to take her pain medicine! She's up singing and dancing and being her normal cheerful self! God is SO GOOD and I SO appreciate all of your prayers and sweet notes to us!
Here a pic right after we got her checked in and into her hospital gown.

One last kiss from mommy right before they wheeled her off.
Ohhhhhh...hahaha...I just found these on my computer from last weekend! The next door neighbor's grandaughter came over and Brooklyn, her and Grant dressed up. I snapped these pix of them! HAHA Grant--oh my gosh!

Yah, it's definately NOT fun to watch your child go thru something like that...try doing it without your husband b/c his crazy job won't even let him return home. Man that was such a HORRIBLE time for me.

I'm glad Brooklyn is doing good!!

Tell Brooklyn that I hope she feels better soon. I hope that you never have to see her go through hard procedures again. Watching Toni go through tough procedures was really hard for me so I totally understand how you must have been feeling.
