It's been a heckova day!
I could make this a long story-but I will spare you all the details and just say that I got fired today by one of my doctors. It was totally unexpected and very disappointing. After a lengthy discussion with them, I am still confused why this is happening..but oh well. I am going to try to look on the brightside and see that now I will have more time to spend with my sweet babies! God is my provider and there is nothing He can't do.
I read a quote today in a magazine article. The article was about learning how to do one thing at one time instead of ten things at one time (something I haven't figured out yet.) Anyway here is the quote, "Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow, for babies grow up, we've learned to our sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep."
I am hoping to live more like this from now on. Here's another thing it said in the article, "It's true that when you stop rushing around, you get less done. But you also get more moments, and yes, these are the moments of your life."
Ahhhh....what a thought....that slowing down and doing less can actually be a positive thing. I want to spend at least a few minutes every day cherishing my children rather than rushing them along from thing to thing and place to place. And now, I should have more time to do that! And now, it's time to put this day to an end. Goodnight everyone!

"The One" it ain't!
Okay, so, I jumped a little ahead of myself with that last post. I was just so excited about this house we found, I just knew it was "The One." Well, we went back and looked at it again last night and brought along my mom and the kids. While we still think it is a Wonderful house, we have pretty much decided that we aren't going to make any hasty decisions (like putting a contract on it before our house sells). It is an older home and will inevitably require repairs and updates in the future. It is closer into town than Matt really wants to be and there isn't really enough room there for all of Matt's toys (2 boats, a 4-wheeler and a boat trailer--not counting fishing poles, tackle boxes, etc...!) So, in the meantime, we are keeping our house up for sale (by owner)and we're gonna just see what happens. Thank goodness that God gives us the desires of our heart---even when sometimes we get confused about what they are! Hope that makes sense. okay, well, Brooklyn and her friend, Trey, are busy watching a movie and Grant's napping, Matt's out in the garage fiddlin' around and I should be working! TTYL!

House For Sale!!!
Wow! We move quick! In the last week or two, we have begun looking for a bigger house. We didn't expect to find "The One" so fast though! The only problem is the sellers won't accept an offer with a contingency-which means it's gonna be a risky decision either way. If we wait until we sell our house to put a contract on this one, it is very liable to be gone...on the other hand, if we put a contract on it and (God forbid) don't sell our house, then we will be making two house payments! AUGHH! I don't know what to do. This is one of those times I would really appreciate an audible answer, God! I'm trying to hear His voice on this---but it's so hard not to get all caught up in all the details and forget my focus. Anyway, I will definitely keep you updated on the situation. In the meantime, would any of you like to buy a really cute house?

Happy 30th Anniversary Mom and Dad!
Today is my mom and dad's 30th wedding anniversary! Congratulations to them! Staying married to anyone for that length of time is quite an accomplishment these days! Plus, men can be so hard to live with sometimes! ha ha! Anyway, I just wanted to say Congratulations to them and update you all on what's going on with us. Matt worked 130 hours of overtime in the past 2 weeks, so we haven't seen him around here too much. Sunday was Father's Day and me and the kids got him a new bass boat, a minnow bucket and a fish scale. (I'm a fan of "big" gifts, I guess. A couple years ago, I bought him a brand-new 4-wheeler for our anniversary!--good thing he makes the big bucks!) Anyhow, the kids started summer school last week. I was really nervous about taking Grant since I've never really left him anywhere that long--but he did just fine. It was me who cried instead of him! Luckily I had to dry up the tears quick because I had an aerobics class 10 minutes after dropping them off. (He did come home today though, with a busted lip!) Brooklyn, of course, was excited to go back to school---especially since her friend, Karlie, is in her class now. She has really gotten into gymnastics lately and I am hoping that this is going to be something she'll stick with for years to come. As for me...I am just doing the same old thing...working, cleaning, cooking, giving the dog a bath, giving the kids baths, making lunches, taking out the trash, changing diapers, working out occasionally, etc. and of course, playing on my computer. I am challenging myself to lose 10 pounds by my birthday--which is only 2 1/2 weeks away and I've been doing it for 2 weeks. So far, so good...but we'll see. That's all for now! Goodnight!

sweet babies
I am posting some pictures of my sweet babies sleeping. I realized I hardly ever get to see them asleep because they we keep their doors closed at night but yesterday morning, I decided to risk waking them so I could get some pictures of my sleeping beauties! Aren't they cute? There is also a picture of our little "janitor." Grant has been carrying this broom around with him now for 3 days. He won't put it down except to sleep. It's hilarious. He even pushes it around on the floor like he is actually sweeping.
Next Tuesday, the kids will start summer school. I am both excited and nervous about it. Brooklyn is used to going and will be fine, but I am uneasy about leaving Grant for that many hours (5). The great thing about it is that there is an aerobics class at 9:40 at the gym I go to and I drop them off at 9:30, so that works out perfectly for me. I have missed going to aerobics so much. Walking on the treadmill in the garage is terrific-but there is just something about being in a room surrounded by other people that makes me just push myself harder. I am sure I will be letting you know how it all goes on Tuesday. As for my hubby, we haven't hardly seen him around here since last Friday. He has been working non-stop. He's finally home tonight---but he's so tired from all the work, that he is already snoozing! Guess I will go run some errands since I am "all alone." (Brooklyn is at church with grandma and Grant's in bed for the night) Later ya'll!

Famous quote from Brooklyn....
Today, while I was getting Brooklyn "ready", she told me, "You can mess with my hair and you can mess with my clothes, but you are DONE messing with me!" It was hilarious. I don't know where she comes up with this stuff.
Our Memorial Day.
Monday was Memorial Day. Since everyone was off work, we all went to Frontier City. This included Matt, me, Brooklyn, Grant, Grandma, Chantel and our friends Kim, Matt and Luke. Brooklyn rode her first big rollercoaster (The Wildcat) and had a blast. She was a little short for some of the rides and I joked that next time we go, I am going to make her wear high-heels! Grant was pretty fussy--which we expected. He's in a very strict routine at home--so when he doesn't get his nap--he's a grouch. He is a great sleeper as long as he has his crib--but he doesn't sleep anywhere else. After Frontier City, we all went to the Riverwalk to Chelino's to have dinner. We met Pudgy and Christian there. Grant wanted some milk in his sippy cup and they didn't have any so Chantel and I had to go to a bar across the street to get some---which they gave us for free. (hopefully they didn't add anything to the milk!) After dinner, we all went walking down the Riverwalk, except for Matt and Christian who went to the Bass Pro Shop. Eventually, us walkers ended up there too and we got Grant a cute shirt there that says, "Eat, nap and go fishin'!" Matt found a boat he wants--(What's new?--at least it's not a motorcycle!) It was a really fun day and a great time with family and friends! We had perfect weather and we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to get on any one ride at Frontier City. It couldn't have gone much better. Hope you had a good day too!
