II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Inked!!!???

Okay guys, as most of you know, my big THREE-OH birthday is fast approaching. For the past YEAR I have been saying I want to do something wild and crazy before I turn 30. It's crunch-time now...since from today, I only have 17 days left of being in my 20's!!!
The most obvious thing and the thing that most people suggest is a tattoo. And until the past month, I would have never even seriously considered it. I think tattoo's are cool for other people--but not for me. I like my skin. The smoother, cleaner skin is...the more beautiful (IMO). Besides all of the "cool" places for girls to have tattoos---are my stretch-mark places and who wants a tattoo there where it will draw more attention to those nasty irridescent lines? No thanks. However---a while back I dreamt of a tattoo. It was a very unusual butterfly and each wing had one of my children's names mixed in with the design. It was gorgeous! Ever since that dream, I cannot get that out of my head. I've been mulling it over for quite a while...and then yesterday, on a whim, I decided to call my brother, who is somewhat of an artist, and have him sketch me out a design. Not like I am committing to it or anything...but just to get an idea of what it might actually look like in real life (outside of my dream). I think I've decided if I DID get it...I would put it on my left front hip bone. It would be small---no more than 3" wide--and completely inconspicuous unless I was in a bikini.
So, I am anxious to hear ya'll's opinions on it. I know some of you will LOVE the idea and some of you will HATE it. Some of you probably think tattoo's are wrong for Christians. Some of you may think they're ugly. I wanna know what you think. Don't "pretty" your comments up to protect my feelings..I want to know what you REALLY think. okay?
And if a tattoo is not the way to go---then what could I do?
I don't want to change my hair. I can't afford a boob job (I wish!!) I don't think a belly-button ring would be too attractive on my strech-marked tummy...but that's not completely been ruled out. I want something more big and permanent than a pedicure. Maybe a brazillian? HA HA...
Laser hair removal on my legs and underarms would be AWESOME but again...too pricey. I thought about maybe pictures...you know...ones for Matt....tasteful of course--something to commemorate all the hard work I've been putting towards my body.
Gosh, I hope this isn't too "personal" to be telling the world....??
Anyway, July 10th will be here before I know it so let me know what you all suggest!

I've always wanted a tattoo, but the hubby isn't for it. The older I get the more I think about the wrinkles that will decorate it in years to come. What about skydiving or a glider ride? Take a class and start something new (cooking, hobby, latin dancing, etc).

30 is knocking at our door...But just remember it is only a knock...do not do something that once you open the door and 30 comes in that you would of wish you would not of...isnt that what our 20's are..made up of some what not so good decsions in the early 20's mixed in with better ones in our mid 20's mixed in with great ones in our late 20's. I know what you are feeling..the 12th will be here soon...
So my advice...do whatever you want...just make sure you will enjoy whatever you do..today and tomorrow...

I am not a fan of tattos. I do not think it's "wrong" for a Christian or anything like that. I just don't find them attractive. Then there is the permanent thing and as Jenelle mentioned the eventual wrinkles and maybe a change of taste or just getting sick of looking at the same thing for all the years to come. That's just my opinion. If you do get one...I'll be excited for you and I'll be excited to see it.

I loved Jenelle's idea of skydiving or Simonsgirlz idea of taking up a new hobby. How about belly dancing or pole dancing (for hubby only of course!) That's a form of excercize too and it could only spice up your sex life!

Didn't you hear Tony in one of the DVD's,say that "What is in an age, it is ONLY A NUMBER".

I say continue on in your exercise adventure and leave all else aside. Trust me when I say it only gets better with age if you take care of yourself and eat healthy and exercise and make it regular part of your life.

With each decade, losing weight becomes that much harder, I have found this in my own life. So do it know while you can, the BEST thing you can bring into your 30's is a Slim Healthy Body and keep it up and make sure to Bring that same body into each decade, so that you don't have to work so hard and you can enjoy each decade as you approach it with confidence!

I know that you will do it, whether it is before your 30 or after, it really doesn't matter, JUST DO IT!
I'm routing for you!

And don't be in a hurry to do anything too crazy, TRULY reach your goal first that you want for yourself and then you will have the rest of your 30's to do whatever. Ü

Forgot to say - no worries about 30. It's just a number. Didn't feel a bit different the day before or the day after turning 30. I'd rather focus on life in general rather than the numbers marking it.

I think that the tattoo is a great thing. Especially since it has meaning to you and your husband. That is the only rule I have about a tat.

You are a beauty and whatever you decide to do your age should be no matter.

personally, I don't like Tattoos. I think "man, when he/she is old and wrinkled, that is going to be U-G-L-Y". And there are times I've seen a black spot on someone and thought "ooo, that's a huge mole" then once I got closer I realized it was some small tattoo. I've just never had a desire for one, and never thought they looked good. But to each his own...my brother has some, and they look fine on him...I've just never cared for them myself.

oh, and my husband still says I'm in "denial". I told him if I refused to be 30, then I wouldn't be...haha So I'm just 29 AGAIN. :) I don't feel any different, and I'm healthier and happier at 29 AGAIN then I was at 20! :)

I'll be 30 3 days before you and I've decided I'm just going to be 29 again until the big 4-0 b-day and then I'll be 39 again for 10 years. Ha! I love the idea of your tattoo and think it's beautiful that you want to include the kids' names. I think the location is great. (Did you know that's where my heart tattoo is?) I have never regretted my tattoo once and don't think I ever will. It's in a place where only I can see it unless I choose to show it to someone and that's exactly why I got it there. It's just for me. I say go for it. I'd love to be there with you when you get inked but I guess I'll just have to settle for hearing about it here on your blog. :) Keep us updated about your decision! And just do what I'm doing...just turn 29 again. Haha

I have some family members who got tattoos in college and are now paying big bucks to try to get them surgically removed. It's a painful process (so is getting a tattoo I've heard)...but apparently the desire for a tattoo may pass and then you're stuck with it. Me, personally...I think if I got a tatt on my cleavage that it'd eventually wind up on my belly, what with gravity and all!

What about a trip? I like the class suggestion: dancing!

On a sidenote...there's a cool blog that's being made into a book (it's not my blog ha-ha!) that you might get a kick out of. The author is looking for OPINIONS! And one of the latest posts was about Christians getting tatts.

It's called pantylinesbook.blogspot.com
