II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Wednesday Weigh-In

Finally! This morning I weighed 145. Now...only 15 pounds to go till I reach my first goal of 130. If I can keep up at least 1-2 pounds per week...I should be able to be there by Christmas--no problem. BUT....it's hard...and the holidays are on their way...and I don't feel very "strong" lately. Ergh! Why does this have to be such a battle for me ALL THE TIME? I never get to take time off from it. It'd be so nice to just have a period of time where I could quit thinking about exercise and calories obsessively and just be me. Like right now, I am at my neice's house and when her and I are together...we love to eat. Usually chips and queso. It's like our "signature" dish and sure enough, last night we made a Chile Con Queso recipe out of her Rachael Ray cookbook and pigged out. Now this morning, I've already had a sausage McGriddles and hot chocolate from Mickey-D's to start the day off. I've probably consumed 2000 calories just since I've been here. And I feel horrible about it. Which really stinks. I wanna just have a good time and not worry about it...but I feel bloated and fat and exhausted and guilty. And...guess what else? we are in the process of getting ready right now...so we can GO OUT FOR LUNCH! AUGH! Food is everywhere and it's always calling my name.

Sounds familiar. When I lost all my weight w/ WW they'd always tell us, you can kick any bad habit and not have to face it everyday like dirnking, smoking, durgs, etc. But eating? Well, since we need to eat to stay alive, it's always going to be a challenge we face at each meal, each bite. I'm right there with ya! If I could bottle up how I feel after I workout or eat well and just take a swig when I get nasty cravings, I would. Eating well and living a healthy lifestyle is a choice that we have to make with each minute of our day, almost. Congrats on the loss - you're on your way. I just made my goal to be down 10 by Thnaksgiving (and not so I can pig out). Really have to watch myself this weekend b/c we're going to visit family in Dallas. Gotta make sure to pack my running shoes!

Congrats Jen! You are well on your way to reaching your goal! Yea!!!

Girl, you can eat and have fun. The key is to make good food choices, and if you do eat bad (like while visiting friends or family), just take a few bites..or eat your meal only until your satisfied (not stuffed).

You can work it off, so don't be to hard on yourself. Just always think "is this worth the work it is going to take to burn it off?" Remember, you must burn 3500 calories, to lose 1 lb of fat. :)

You can do it girlfriend! I KNOW you can.

Love ya!

I lost my weight with BFL there was no counting calories, just portion control. I've lost 78lbs over the last 2 years. I have a post with before and after photos on my blog if you have time to check it out. Good luck to you!

Hey there...mlm here...i've been following your posts on the weight thing for bit. wanted to say something i learned awhile back...when we're stressed about stuff, our body holds onto fat. seriously. something having to do with survival of the species and the chemical/hormone releases that signal the brain to store food since the body is under stress and may not eat again any time soon.

While I know that my stress is food/weight related, my body doesn't. As far as it knows, I might be at war or kidnapped or some other stressful thing, where I may not be able to eat again any time soon.

Anyway, the more stressed we get about food, the more we sabatoge ourselves and our weight loss efforts. Plus, the chemicals our body releases can be dangerous over the long haul. Basically, the fat and calories in an ice cream sundae are less harmful to my body than the damage I cause by worrying about the fat and calories.

That said, I know it's not always helpful to hear someone say "Don't stress" or "Don't worry." Or, "Just enjoy what you eat." Therefore, I will try to write you more later on this subject (if you want me to) because it's something I struggled with personally for years.

Until then, I'm rooting for you!
