II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I'm boiling....bubbles.

Okay, I am trying to calm myself down because I know that by tomorrow, I will probably look back at this situation and laugh..but right now I am so MAD at my kids. It's mostly Grant's fault, really...but still Brooklyn was in on part of it too. This morning while giving Grant a bath, he decided to wash his own hair. I had walked out of the room for a couple of minutes to check my e-mail (my office is right outside the bathroom). He said, "Mom, the shampoo is all gone." I went in there and sure enough, he had used an ENTIRE bottle of Johnson's Baby Shampoo on his hair! That was frustrating, but I just chalked it up to a lesson learned. (don't leave a 2-year-old in the tub alone with full bottles of shampoo within reach). It took me probably 5 full minutes to get all the bubbles washed down the drain and with each, swish, I was thinking there goes my money right down the drain...
Now...fast forward to tonight, about 20 minutes ago. I went and turned on the water to start filling the tub so I could give them baths before bed tonight. I told them to start getting undressed while I went and got some library books to read and got their jammies out. Low and behold, I walk back into the bathroom in time to hear Brooklyn tell me that "Grant just put the WHOLE bottle of BRAND NEW bubbles in the tub! " Now...normally I buy cheap bubbles..but this time I had splurged and bought the expensive Cars brand bubbles with the cute bottle since Grant is SO into that movie right now and sure enough...it was completely empty. ERGHHH!!!
So...here comes the next mistake...while they are in the tub, I decide to make a dreadful phone call to a company who messed up an online order I had made. I practically got in a fight with the customer service lady on the phone and by the time we hung up, I was thorougly disgusted. (but that's a long story I won't bore you with the details of). So...I walk into the bathroom to check on them and it's like there was a bubble explosion or something. There are bubbles from ceiling to floor and all the way out of the bathroom and all over the hall carpet. Apparently 32 oz. of bubbles in a small bathtub combined with 2 wiggly kids makes for some mega-bubbling. Add to that the fact that they were both jumping in and out of the tub over and over and you can just imagine the mess. Boy was I steaming when I went in there! Even as I was yelling at them, I was thinking in the back of my mind how this was actually kind of funny...but I was not about to let that part of my brain win over the part that was FURIOUS at the mess I was going to have to clean up. I made them both get out even though they were covered in bubbles from head to toe---and thick too---like a bubble suit and I just dried them off. I probably should have let them rinse off but I was too mad. They even had/have bubbles in their hair..but Oh Well! That's what they get!
So, now that I have gotten that off my chest, it doesn't really sound like that horrible of a deal...but I needed to vent it. Hope you all get a little laugh out of it. I know those of you who are moms will understand! Love you all!

I'm so sorry you had to learn this the hard way. Seth has done the same thing to me, except the bottle only had about 1/4 of the shampoo left in it when he started. I didn't have nearly as bad of a bubble problem as you just described. But as I am picturing it in my mind, I can't help but laugh! :) I know I would have been furious too, that is just us being Mom's and thinking of the huge mess we are going to have to clean up. But think of how much fun they were having! haha
Love ya girl,
Kandy

I'm sorry that you had to go thru that...although I do agree with you that it is a bit funny when you try to picture all those bubbles! Just when you think it's safe to leave your kids alone for a few minutes....they find something else to get into!

Oh yah! I know exactly what you mean about how those moments can make you so frusterated at the time and then when you step back you can see the humor in them.

KIDS!...gotta love em! :0)
