II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Weekend Movie Review

This weekend I rented The Devil Wears Prada. I know the title sounds bad...but really...the movie has nothing to do with the actual devil. Anne Hathaway (Princess Diaries) and Meryl Streep star in this materialistic, fasionista movie about playing dirty to get ahead. Meryl Streep plays Miranda, the Editor/Producer of a fashion magazine called Runway. She hires the frumpy and very un-fashionable Andi (Anne Hathaway) to be her personal assistant (or more like her slave). Miranda seemingly has no integrity and proudly admits that in this game...you have to cheat others to get what you want. Thus the name of the movie...The Devil Wears Prada....her being the "devil." Andi on the otherhand, won't succumb to the malicious and kniving ways of her boss Miranda and while she does change some things (she trades in her geeky clothes for the high-fashion, runway threads the models are wearing), in the end, she proves that being moral and honest are the REAL ways to get ahead in life. This is definitely a chick-flick and probably not something your hubby will love...but definitely worth renting for a night in with the girls.
