II Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Goodbye Baby, Hello Big Boy!

Let's see...this time 2 years ago, I was lying in a hospital bed curled up in excruciating pain desperatly panting my hee-hee-who's and praying for the endurance to give birth to this child without anesthesia. I was nearly 8 cm before the last ounce of strength in my body evaporated and I took the epidural. It was a really light dose of anesthesia and unlike my birth experience with Brooklyn where I was so medicated you could have cut my foot off and I wouldn't have noticed, this time I felt everything except pain. It was wonderful and perfect and at 4:44 am, I gave birth to my precious baby boy who weighed in at 7 lbs. 7 oz. Besides Matt, my mom and Brooklyn stayed in the delivery room to welcome little Grant Harrison into our family. I know that childbirth is supposed to evoke all these painful and wretched memories, but for me...they are some of the most cherished memories of my life. There are plenty of reasons I might want to have another child, but the actual childbirth part is one of the biggest. There is nothing more miraculous than creating your own little person and nothing more amazing than the moment that person enters the world and you look into their precious little eyes, and feel their silky-smooth skin and smell their fresh, baby smell. Aughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... However, I suspect that God also gives us days like the one I've had today as His own special means of birth control. I would venture to say Grant entered into the "terrible twos" a few hours before he had the right to. Beginning at 7:30 this evening and ending only mere minutes ago, we have been trying to get him to sleep. For the record, it is 11:11 pm right now!!! I hope this isn't the beginning of something! He's always been our "good" sleeper. He stays in his bed, goes right to sleep when it is bedtime and awakens at approximately the same time (8 am) every day. Of course, I guess some of that might be attributed to the fact that we do "lock" him into his Cozy Crib Tent every night. ha ha Hmmmmmmmmmmm....I wonder if they make Cozy Twin-bed Tents??? hee hee
Anyway, it's getting late and I should probably be heading to bed. We have a big day tomorrow and a big party at Chuck-E-Cheese. (I will post pictures tomorrow evening!) Happy Birthday my sweet little cowboy! I can't believe you're TWO YEARS OLD!
